2026-27 Officials Clinics

All Clinics are for VMHA Youth Officials Only. If you are an adult official, you can contact Rupert directly at referees@vmha.com to express your interest.

This clinic is designed for officials who are looking to advance their skills and prepare for higher levels of hockey officiating. Participants will receive instruction in advanced officiating techniques, positioning, and game management strategies to support their ongoing development.

The clinic also includes a power skating session and a formal skating assessment. This evaluation will provide participants with individualized feedback, identify areas for improvement, and measure readiness against high-performance officiating standards.

The clinic will be led by VMHA Referee-in-Chief Rupert Xu, along with a team of experienced high-performance officials.

Who Should Attend?

Officials who are committed to developing their skills, gaining insight into the requirements for higher-level assignments, and challenging themselves to meet high-performance officiating standards.

Early-season ice sessions are crucial for the development of every official. Starting the season strong sets the tone for success, and we're here to help you do just that.

Session Dates & Details:

You have three chances to take part in these valuable sessions. While attending at least one is required, you're encouraged to join all three to maximize your learning. Each session will be led by a team of highly experienced officials—offering a unique opportunity to learn directly from the best in the field.

Note: There will be a 15-minute break between the ice session and the classroom session to allow time for changing and walking to Room 104 at the Community Centre.
