2026-2027 VMHA Rep Program

Important Dates

  • Deadline to Register for Tryouts: July 1, 2026
  • U11-U18 Tryouts: August 31 - Sept 4

Tryout Fee

The tryout fee for U11-U18 is $300 and is non-refundable after July 1. If the request is made prior to July 1, there is an admin charge of $25 to process the cancellation request.

Important: Your regular season registration must be completed and paid in full before participating in rep tryouts.

If you did not register for Rep Tryouts during your regular season registration, email registrar@vmha.com to have the fee added to your registration.

Additional Rep Fees

These are the estimated Rep fees for the 2026-27 season. These fees cover the cost of coaches, additional practice ice, and dryland training. They do not include team-related fees for tournaments, coach travel expenses, and other team activities.

Body Checking Requirement – U15A & U18A

Players (other than a goaltender) new to U15A or U18A must have completed a Body Checking Clinic from a VMHA-recognized provider prior to tryouts. Recognized providers include:

  • VMHA Body Checking Clinics
  • Next Up Hockey
  • Vancouver Hockey School
  • Pacific Elite Hockey School
  • Inside Edge Hockey
  • DHD (Dragicevic Hockey Development)

If you completed a body checking clinic with a provider other than VMHA, please send proof of registration to Registrar@vmha.com.

2026-2027 Rep Coaches

Vancouver Minor Hockey Association is pleased to announce our rep coaching staff for the 2026-2027 season.

U18 A1 & U11 A1 Head Coach - Jason Mann

Jason Mann

Jason returns to VMHA after leading our U18 A1 team to the association's first-ever U18 Provincial Championship last season. A dedicated coach with a strong focus on player development, accountability, and team culture, Jason has consistently helped players reach their potential both on and off the ice. We are thrilled to have him leading both our U18 A1 and U11 A1 programs this season.

U15 A1 Head Coach - Jim Russell

Jim Russell

Jim Russell has been a highly respected and valued member of the VMHA coaching staff for many years, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to player development, team culture, and competitive excellence. Last season, Jim guided the U15 A1 team to a Provincial Silver Medal while creating an environment that challenged players to grow both on and off the ice. With his High Performance 1 certification, extensive coaching experience, and passion for helping athletes reach their potential, we are incredibly fortunate to have Jim leading our U15 A1 program once again and look forward to another outstanding season under his leadership.

U15 A2 Head Coach - Jim Schuck

Jim Schuck

Jim brings a wealth of coaching experience and a passion for developing young athletes. His ability to build strong relationships with players while maintaining a positive and structured environment has made him a highly respected coach within the hockey community. We are excited to have Jim leading our U15 A2 program this season.

U13 A1 Head Coach - Geoff So

Geoff So

Geoff has been a dedicated member of the VMHA coaching community for several seasons and has played an important role in the development of players across multiple age groups. After serving as an Assistant Coach with our U13 A1 team last season, Geoff has demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to player development, and a deep understanding of the game. We are excited to have him take the next step as Head Coach of our U13 A1 program.

U13 A2 Head Coach - Alex Dengler

Alex Dengler

Alex returns to VMHA after a strong first season in which he established a positive team culture and helped foster meaningful player development throughout the year. He brings a thoughtful approach to coaching, emphasizing skill development, accountability, and a positive learning environment. We are excited to have Alex continue building on that foundation as Head Coach of our U13 A2 team this season.
